Michael Myers wet and dry

Michael Myers

Michael Myers tattoo wet.

It’s crazy the difference a slight change can make in a photo. The first image is dry, the second is wet. In a world of deeply edited tattoo photos on social media a consumer needs to be careful about believing what they see all the time. Be sure to check out an artist’s healed work as well before diving in with a large-scale appointment. That’s why we try to include healed images of our tattoos here frequently.

The Mouth of Sauron

Mouth of Sauron tattoo

We get it, you don’t read and you’ve been living under a rock of the last 20 years, so you have no idea what this Mouth of Sauron from JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series is. Not problem, just move on. We post this photo to show the greys in this piece healed, the whites are fresh. Enjoy! Then go and get some culture you freak.

Skulls

Skull Tattoo

There isn’t a tattoo artist worth their salt around that doesn’t love a good old skull tattoo, and we’re no different. If there was only one type of tattoo we could do moving forward, it would be skulls. Evocative and engaging, they remind us of our mortality, something tattoos in general have a habit of doing. It also goes pretty far to state that a skull can teach us that under the skin we’re all the same. A beautiful sentiment indeed. See? Not so scary after all.

Native American

Native American chief tattoo

This slightly blurry (sorry about that, our bad) and completely healed tattoo on our buddy Forrest was done by Will Wood as part of an entire Native American leg sleeve. More to Come!

Beefcake Jake

What can we say? This guy is on fire! Tattooing since the fall of 2022, Jake has improved by leaps and bounds. This amazing increase in his ability can be most attributed to two things: his prior experience as a mechanic (mechanics have to figure things out on the fly and this problem-solving under pressure is very similar to how young tattooers learn and improve) and the tutelage of master tattoo artist Will Wood.

We kick off Pride Month with this little matchstick by our very own Jake, the beefcake is just extra! Swing by to appreciate it in all it’s glory.

Enter the Dragon

The only man to beat Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee. Starring in over 20 films by the time he turned 20, Lee was catapulted into stardom. He is also the primary reason “kung-fu” was popularized in America. In other words if it weren’t for Bruce, we probably wouldn’t have a little known sport called MMA today.

God of War

Beginning in 2005 on the PlayStation 2, God of War has become a flagship series for PlayStation, consisting of nine installments across multiple platforms. Based on ancient mythologies, the story follows Kratos, a Spartan warrior and later the Greek God of War, who was tricked into killing his family by his former master, the original Greek God of War Ares. As a result of this, his families ashes were imbued into his skin, as a reminder of the wretched deeds he had done. Luckily enough for us, no one’s family had to die for this tattoo. Although what a story it would’ve been, right?

True Artistry

The mark of a true artist like Will is to be able to take a photo and make it even more bad-ass than it already was, or in this case, two photos. So when we say “creative freedom”, we mean it. You may end up with a masterpiece like this!

Piercing Special!

All day this Saturday, March 25th, Lighthouse Tattoo will be offering select piercings from our apprentice piercer to finish up her training. The affected piercings include: Septum; tongue; labret and vertical labret; eyebrow; daith; and rook. These piercings can all be had for only $10 and only this Saturday, March 25th! We do not take appointments for piercings, they are done on a first-come, first served basis as walk-ins only, so the sooner you get here Saturday, the better off you are!

Reverse Flash

If you like comics and haven’t watched any of the Flash series, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s definitely better than the Flash from the movies. This particular villain, Reverse Flash, is strikingly similar to the regular Flash in a way that only really happens in comic books and B-rated films. Still, this guy juxtaposed against his arch-nemesis on the other side of Chris’s calf here is impressive.

Jason Voorhees Tattoo

We got this dry shot of a still-healing piece that was done the other day as part of a horror sleeve our realism artist Will Wood is currently working on. We’ll get a better shot of it once it’s fully healed. Hey, we it says ‘tattoo’ on the door, nobody ever said we were good photographers… Enjoy!
